Sal Colangelo
Sal Colangelo brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the Academy. Currently, Colangelo is the assistant varsity baseball coach at his alma mater, Potomac High School in Woodbridge, VA. In addition, he is a private hitting instructor and assistant baseball camp coordinator for Derek Hacopian Baseball Academy in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and a baseball school instructor at the Chuck Farris Baseball School. Colengelo also acts as an associate scout for the Anaheim Angels for Northern Virginia.
From 1995-1997, Colangelo served as the assistant baseball coach at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. From 1991 through 1995, Colangelo played baseball and football for Virginia Tech. Prior to and during college, he spend two summers playing in the Clark Griffith League. An outstanding base runner, Colangelo stole over 100 bases in high school, including 52 in just 18 games.
Sal is married and had the birth of his first child in December of 2001.
