Biographies - Mike Covington

Mike began his association with the Jerry Gardziel Fall Classic in 1986. He is currently the head baseball coach at Potomac High School, and an associate scout with the Kansas City Royals. In the off season, he is an instructor at the Senators Baseball School in Woodbridge, Virginia. He has been the coach for the North Team in the Commonwealth Games of Virginia for 13 years. He coached the Fauquier Gators in the Clarke Griffith Collegiate Wooden Bat League in 2001. He played baseball at Pembroke State University and went on to become an assistant coach there.

Mike is a native to Prince William County and gives much of his time to the youth of the county. Mike and his wife Dena were married in 1988 and have one son - Tyler.
