The Players
When
Jerry Gardziel
realized the success his FALL CLASSIC was having
in showcasing his own players' skills, he set his sights higher.
His goal was to create the premiere showcase for high school
baseball talent.
Hundreds of "blue-chip" players
in one location. In competition with each other. In front of
hundreds of coaches and scouts.
So far it has worked. Each year the quality
of players has improved over the year before. Perhaps no year
had a better combination of quality and quantity than 1995. Twenty
players in the 1995 FALL CLASSIC were selected in the Major League
draft.
In 1994 the total scholarship money awarded
to athletes that have participated in the FALL CLASSIC broke
the one million dollar barrier.
